Charles S. Turner was born in Iowa; his family moved to Boulder in 1882. Soon after his arrival, Turner began a plumber's apprenticeship with the Rutter and Hankins firm. He retired from the plumbing business in 1923; he was responsible for much of the plumbing installation in many of the leading buildings on Pearl St., the university campus, and residences throughout the city of Boulder.
